This week,  on March 24th, the women’s Canadian cycling team will take the spotlight as they compete in the Team Pursuit race for the 2011 World Championship in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. Head Coach, Richard Wooles, announced the women’s squad earlier this week. The members are Tara Whitten (Edmonton, AB), Laura Brown (Vancouver, BC) and Clara Hughes (Glen Sutton, QC.  The fourth rider, Stephanie Roorda (Vancouver, BC) will serve as the alternate.

The team who will represent Canada is excited to show the world how hard they have been working. Richard Wooles stated that "The four women that vied for a spot on the World Championship squad are all elite athletes with the potential and the ability to compete successfully at this high level."
